The dark haired lady introduced herself as Victoria and promptly dismissed her dinner guests (the staff, who later had no recollection of the event) and informed the team that her hunting grounds in Islington have been infringed on by a thus far unknown Vampire who is new to London. As the team began to question why this is their problem they were told this request comes directly from The Lady and that Kindred tradition demands new Vampires present themselves to the ruler of a city. Another more troubling violation of Kindred tradition is that Victoria suspects this newly arrived Kindred may have Embraced a child – something forbidden without permission of the ruler of a City.
At the recommendation of Victoria the group ‘gothed up’ and went to Slimelights in Islington, with a lead for a tall, dark haired man…no easy feat given it’s status as one of London’s premier goth venues. That said, the dark gift does have it’s advantages and after two hours of head thumping Delirium, Sisters of Mercy and Bauhaus they spotted their man, who introduced himself as Andrew Morris and seemed quite ignorant of Kindred Society and laws – yet was likely an older Vampire than them.
Karina’s seduction (and kissing) skills ensure Andrew accepts an invitation to Milk and Honey and off they go. The rest of the group follow discretely and they ultimately reveal themselves to Andrew who seemed unaware they were all Vampires. Calling on Sharon for aid they learn a number of things before she arrives, namely that Andrew was embraced and held by an older Vampire who taught him about his nature but nothing about Kindred community, society and laws. Sharon suggests they stay at Milk and Honey as the dawn is approaching. With more and more questioning Andrew breaks and reveals he Embraced a homeless child who was dying from the cold…and that the child reacted very badly to this so he is keeping her locked in a basement apartment where he brings women he seduces for her to feed on.
The following evening Sharon informs them that not only have laws pertaining to Kindred society been broken by the very Masquerade is under threat. Many missing women last seen with one man tend to attract attention. Knowing their existence is at stake they head to Andrew’s basement apartment and are greeted with a charnel house of horror. Three women, one barely alive chained to the wall and a savage vampire child on a longer chain hiding behind a blood soaked couch.
After securing the barely alive woman from her chains it falls to Dorian to do what must be done – and with an improvised weapon the child is slain. The realisation that they have acted to preserve Kindred society makes the group aware that they have taken a large step away from their human life and a very firm step into their un-life. Sharon arrives with a can of petrol and informs the team the local fire brigade is under Sebastian’s influence so it will be reported as a gas leak fire. Seeing they have brought the still alive women with them she tells them to drive to Battersea Power station where Sebastian and Victoria await to give judgement….
